Math class is boring. You grab a pencil and draw a doodle. To your amazement, the doodle comes to life before your very eyes! You watch as the pencil, possessed, begins to draw doodle after doodle, all of them coming to life. You look up. The teacher is coming! You grab your trusty eraser; it’s time to go to work.
In Pencil vs. Eraser, you face an onslaught of evil pencil doodles that have come to life. Choose from a variety of weapons from powerful missiles to the versatile flower gun and go to battle. Try to erase the doodles while they’re being drawn or you risk being overrun by a variety of enemies from aliens to pizza; there’s even a giant poop that spawns flies! When you fail, use the cash you’ve earned to upgrade your eraser and try again. How many of the procedurally generated levels can you finish?
History:
Pencil vs. Eraser is a top-down shooter developed by Quinn Purdy, sole developer of Bellringer Studios. After receiving a grant from his school for showing promise as a game developer and entrepreneur, Quinn founded Bellringer Studios and started working on the game of his dreams, Pencil vs. Eraser, on January 1st, 2019. There was a closed beta held for Pencil vs. Eraser from April 1st to April 14th. The feedback from the 80+ testers was overwhelmingly positive. After fixing most of the bugs and reading the feedback from the beta, Quinn set the release date for Pencil vs. Eraser to be early May 2019. When asked what price Bellringer Studios should charge for Pencil vs. Eraser, the most common answer given by the beta testers was $10. It is no wonder that they were all quite excited when Bellringer Studios announced that Pencil vs. Eraser would be available for free for everyone. No ads. No microtransactions. No DLC.
The goal of Pencil vs. Eraser was to create a simple yet fun game that everyone could enjoy. Set in a childhood fantasy world, Pencil vs. Eraser aims to put a smile on everyone’s face by igniting their inner child.
